The strategic direction of digital publishing encountering with blockchain in the age of 5G (1)
This article attempts to explore what is feasible for developing blockchain technology in the digital publishing industry by applying systematic analysis, and what matters is from the technical perspective and historical background.
the article proposes three visions for the development of blockchain technology in the digital publishing industry:
1).the strategic direction, to explore the construction of a next-generation digital publishing industry infrastructure platform that integrates and synergizes multiple factors such as “blockchain + ABCIT”;
2)the strategic significance, to construct a new production relationship based on “machine trust”;
3)the strategic content, to explore how to construct the future development of the ecosystem for the digital publishing industry.
Various data leakage incidents have given the folks an insight. To ensure data privacy and security is something vital that must pay attention to the current or future digital business era. Blockchain, as a decentralized, traceable, tamper-evident, secure and verifiable distributed database, is helpful to address what has happened in the digital industry. Besides, blockchain, as developing technology, will promote the further improvement and evolution of the Internet, drive the Internet more efficient, trusty, normative. However, most studies that have been published focus on local issues, mainly on the features of blockchain technology to explore the changes that it can bring to the digital publishing industry and what it can do, such as content production, copyright verification and authentication, etc. But very few studies are connected with the prediction of what the internet will be going on.
The strategic direction of blockchain development: to build a “blockchain+ABCIT” infrastructure platform for the digital publishing industry
The systematic approach is a research method that adopts the theory and system science to analyze problems. Its main feature is to analyze, study and obtain the optimum solution from the opposite and unified relationship. Given that blockchain is not isolated, the systematic analysis to examine the blockchain development in the industry must be combined with other technologies such as 5G, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, to play a more significant role.
(1) based on the time dimension, the strategic direction of blockchain lies in seeking to achieve the abandonment of traditional Internet
From the latitude of times, we should consider how to resolve the real dilemma by placing blockchain in the historic background of Internet development (what to be inherited and what to discard). As McLuhan said, “looking at the moment through the rear-view mirror and we are going to the future by going backwards. In other words, media growth continues to keep evolved by constantly reanalyzing the past. So what needs to be examined and discarded by the digital publishing industry? that must first review what it has been through the years, change the existing Internet as a whole, in terms of uneven quality, chaos and unrest, lack of trust, monopoly platforms, (which mentioned hinder development) intending to enhance the efficiency and competitiveness by building a powerful, evolutionary, ecological and integrated “blockchain+ABCIT” infrastructure platform to support future development. Blockchain cannot be treated as a technology isolated from others, instead to build a blockchain + platform. Blockchain as the underlying architecture, besides, of ABCIT, the five basic elements referring to A (Artificial Intelligence)”, “B (Big Data)”, “C (Cloud)” I (Internet, currently 5G)”, “T (The Internet of Things)”.
Being powerful means to take the highest point in future competitiveness; Being evolutionary means the continuously developed iteration, Being ecological means that it is not just one species but also a symbiotic ecosystem that covers logistics, capital and human-machine symbiotic synergy, Being integrated means not to limit a single species but synchronize with 5G blockchain technologies, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, cloud computing science and big data, aiming at constructing an operational infrastructure between virtual and reality.
(2)From the spatial dimension, the strategic direction of blockchain lies in seeking to realize the synergy of all elements of the platform. The “Blockchain+ABCIT” platform as a whole, in which each of the components is interdependent, integrated and mutually promoted.
The (5G+) Internet + Internet of Things, as an integrated ecosystem, forms the interconnection of everything and promotes the integration of the consumer Internet and the industrial Internet, which is like building a four-way neural network system for people, connecting people with people, people with things, things with things, etc.
As blood running through the human body, big data (including data centres) is the core asset of the digital publishing industry, the energy for the operation of the digital publishing industry (such as industrial oil), the future operation of the digital publishing industry in the planning, decision-making, production, marketing, etc.
Artificial intelligence is, as the human brain, the pivot of the digital publishing industry, which collects the accumulated data via the Internet from all and the cloud computing platform to mining and analysis, thus enhancing the industry’s accurate depiction, prediction, judgment and decision making. Artificial Intelligence is the means to produce digital publishing in an effective, automatic and accurate fashion and determines the competitiveness of the digital publishing industry for future development.
Blockchain, on the other hand, builds the framework of the whole infrastructure system, just like the human skeleton, as the premise for linking other factors to develop together. Its features such as full traceability and non-tamper ability ensure the accuracy and authenticity of data and make the data, the energy of artificial intelligence, effective, while its features such as smart contract and consensus mechanism provide Its smart contract, consensus mechanism and other features provide the premise of large-scale collaboration among various subjects in the industrial supply chain, including machines and human-machine; and various APP systems built on this foundation enrich various application scenarios in the publishing industry, just like many organs in the human body. The integration of all these elements together constructs the complete ecology of the future infrastructure of the digital publishing industry.
Systematically, systematic construction by blockchain strategy is an interdependent and evolving ecology. This is manifested in the following two aspects: First, from the perspective of interrelationship, all factors in the “Blockchain+ABCIT” infrastructure platform are interrelated and inseparable systems.
1. Without blockchain, there is no prerequisite for other factors to function, i.e., without security and privacy, credit and consensus rules for transactions, the industrial body cannot operate efficiently; 2.Without 5G and Internet of Things”, other elements cannot be interconnected and supply chain synergy cannot be formed; 3.Without cloud computing, the digital publishing industry has no virtual industrial platform to rely on and cannot form a supply chain synergy. 4.Without cloud computing, the digital publishing industry will not have a virtual industrial platform to accumulate and collect big data; without big data, cloud computing (whose main function is storage, calculation and information processing) will be a heart not being provided with blood, and become a walking corpse; 5.without various APPs, it will not be able to generate and accumulate multi-dimensional data of various scenarios, and empower the industry; 6.Without the above elements, artificial intelligence will not be able to function Blockchain’s consensus mechanism, smart contracts, etc. are the basis for forming large-scale collaboration. 7.Without the above elements, AI will not work and industrial productivity cannot be improved.
Second, the digital publishing industry infrastructure platform built by “blockchain+ABCIT” is an evolving and iterative ecosystem. In other words, ecologically, blockchain, artificial intelligence, big data (including data center), cloud computing, Internet, Internet of Things and other technical factors are constantly developing and improving, and the winners and losers are eliminated, and through constant iteration and evolution, they depend on each other and compete for each other, so that can structure a powerful, open and competitive ecosystem.
